Question Reese head/receiver cracked

I am currently inspecting everything on the stream for my upcomming trip to GA. I noticed that the head of my dual cam reciever is cracked on both sides where the c channel is welded to the ball mount.

Does any one know if this is under warranty from reese and if so who could I contact.

TIA

Reese had a problem with this a few years ago. Some who had it thought it was caused by the fit on the drawbar being a little loose and the stress caused by drawing down the bolts was the cause. A couple friends made thin shims to take up the "slack " and seemed to have some success but I don't know what the final resolution of the problem was or whether Reese owned up to it.
Certainly worth a phone call to find out.

I think age has something to do with the wear or warranty. Why not take a picture and contact Reese online or go to a local dealer.

Call Reese 800 521 0510 and ask. They have been quite good at replacing items that fail because of the image they want to protect.

Be very careful inspecting anything you get from them now days. Product is made in Mexico and has no quality control as noted in the second picture. 2 sets of these hangers came in unusable. I rewelded the holes closed and drilled my old hangers.

Thanks for the info. I called Reese and they ask for pictures. Now I have a new ball mount on the way.

Thanks,

Chris
