Air Safe Hitches

Do any of you use an Air Safe Hitch, as I have been reading about on Airstream Addicts Facebook page? Comments?

When I'm searching on this forum, I tend to use the advanced search feature and search in the title area...
Hope this helps!
Bruce

I use Airsafe with Equalizer weight distribution bars on 27 AS pulled by Chev HD2500. Love the easy set up. Hitch is an SOB to pick up as it is very heavy. Leave it on during summer so as not to have to take on and off.

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

IMHO.....it would be a bit of overkill with your softly sprung TV & 20' AS.

Get the WD & sway control set properly with a LEVEL rig and you should be fine.

How much does the Airsafe hitch weigh? For those of us using tow vehicles with relatively low payload capacity, it might break the tow camel's back ;-)

Hi from AZ. . . I have a Safari Sport 17, like yours it's single axle & light weight..........I use this inexpensive & easy to set up device, seems to work fine...just load the AS carefully..........It's a lot easier than the Equalizer set-up on my FC28..................travel safe, Craig

An interesting mechanical concept but it leave a few questions.

It looks like, without significant modifications, that it will only work with the Equalizer WD system. I say this because any other hitch head would require welding and once welded there would be no head tilt adjustment.

it is not clear in the video if head tilt is available in the system filmed. A requirement for original setup and to correct for ware.

It is a shame that they had to voice the urban myth that a WD hitch transfer 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 of the weight. Using such a false statement cause one to maybe question some of their other statements.
