SUV for towing 25 Tradewind

I recently purchased a 79 25 Tradewind and tow it with a 1997 F150 XLT 4x4 with towing package. It has no problems towing but it is loud and not too comfortable for the long hauls. I would like to find a SUV that I can comfortably commute to work everyday and then use it on the weekends as my TV for my airstream. I'm currently looking at the MB ML350 gas. Finding a diesel version is proving difficult. I'm tired of having two vehicles. Anyone else out there in a similar situation?

For the price of that ML you can get a nice newer F150 that won't be so loud.

I towed a 2007 20' with a ML500. Loved it.

When we wanted to go to a 25', we needed a bigger vehicle. A GL would do it but I saved a bundle and got a 2012 Dodge Durango Hemi- it's the same platform as the GL. Tow great and is a great daily driver.

I'm interested in moving up groom my Tacoma to aDurango, but I can't afford $50,000. Would any of you buy a Durango with close to 100,000 miles? Over 100,000?

Hi Midgesa,

Have you looked at the Nissan Armada w/ Tow package? It has a towing capacity of 8,500 pounds compared to the ML 350's 6,600.

I have a lightly used 2007 LE fully loaded and love it. I get 11 - 12 mpg pulling my 25' trailer to the Adirondacks in upstate NY.

The newer versions have some really great features which I really want.

Here's a link for more info.

Goodluck.
