2020 F-250 7.3l Godzilla Tremor
Just wondering if anyone here has purchased a Ford F-250 7.3l gasser(godzilla) Tremor to tow their AS. We just got one for our 2020 FC23fb. We had a 2017 f-150 4x4. It did a fine job, but we wanted better braking and grade pulling capacity. So we upgraded to the new f-250. The tremor is an off road beast, so it should do fine towing our 23, and if we get into some light snow on the road hoping it does great. We are about to go boondocking in the Sierras at the end of the month and are excited about our new TV!

Curious what the payload sticker says. I have a F250, 7.3l on the way. Not the Tremor model though.

Hopefully the Sierras your heading to are open by the end of the month!
All the National forest in the northern Sierra/Cascades are CLOSED as of this week. I got $150.00 worth of licenses and tags for deer season at the end of the month, and usually use them in the Lassen National Forest. Fingers crossed.
The truck looks like a beast!

We were just heading to the Sierras and turned around. As the previous poster said, the National Forest and State Park campgrounds are all closed. I’d reconsider your plan.

I have a garden-variety 2019 F250 6.7l diesel so I can't provide much input other than to say that's a nice-looking combination. Like those black wheels and the truck color (ours is boring black). Have fun! Hope the West gets some rain/snow soon!

WE purchased the 2020 SD F250XLT 7.3L automatic 10 speed, it pulls out 33 classic and its great! Wish it had a bigger gas tank but we love to power and brakes! Reviews on the new model are great so far. I think you got all the truck you need. KT

7.3
I have the 6.7 and it tows our 25 ft so well we sometimes forget it’s back there. I believe, (me included ) that many of use would like your honest evaluation of the 7.3 with the 10 speed. I have heard the new 10 speed transmission is a shifting hunting pain however many owners most likely did not read the manual and learn how to lock out 9,9-10 gears in the Mts .
Nice looking truck.

We’ve had our 7.3 since January and love it. We tow a 25 ft safari and it doesn’t felling like your towing. We’ve put 7,000 miles so far and 4,500 towing .

For the record, I am not expert. I am going to mention that before buying an F250 with the new gas engine, do your research. Of course it can pull an airstream no problem at all, period.
My concern is the engine was designed to be under a load to be efficient (fuel consumption vs power band). I have a 25 ft Flying Cloud (currently use a Toyota Tundra) and was concerned it was not enough weight for the new engine design? Anyone else read up on this engine?

I would be more concerned keeping a modern diesel under load than gas. Diesel exhaust temps need to be kept up for all of the emissions to gear to function properly. Even some newer gas engines can risk carbon build up in the heads with direct injection and EGR.
The 7.3 Godzilla has neither EGR nor direct injection. Built for commercial applications with lots idling too. 6-bolt mains and forged crank.

Our 7.3 gasser isn’t a daily driver. With that said our towing mileage is around 11 mpg. Driving in around town is 15 to 16 . On the interstate can be above 17 mpg. The payload is 3095 lbs. The only the we would have liked to have was a tail gate step. A bigger gas tank would be nice too, but they only come in a long bed, and would lower the payload.

Check out Transfer Flow in Chico CA. They make a 60 gallon replacement tank. Just check the truck cab configuration and bed length.
