Question Does this sound right

Hi all,
Just bought a 1975 25' Tradewind. Great condition throughout all original.

I inspected it, bought it ($2800) but have to still go pick it up.

MY question is about the interior wall construction. I remember seeing a fist-size hole in the wall in the upper corner of the rear of the trailer. My memory tells me I could see insulation through the hole.. It appeared to me the walls in that area are just some kind of cardboard, fiberboard??? I don't know what.

I've been reading the walls in these units are alum with a material glued on... this did not seem to be the case where I saw this hole. What am I missing?

Frankly, I just want white walls, so should I be able to patch this hole in some kind of nice way and paint?

thx
Gary

The interior is skinned in vinyl clad aluminum, the end caps of that era are typically plastic.
