Group 24 to Group 27

We have a 2004 Safari. The stock battery setup is a metal box holding two group 24 batteries. As I boondock a lot, I would like to upgrade this setup to two group 27's. Does anyone make a "plug and play) battery box for this conversion?

There have been a number of threads on this and everyone has had to modify the existing box or have one made.

If you have room to raise the top of the existing battery box about 1.5 inches, you can put two golf cart batteries in series in place of the two type 24's that the box now holds.

Type 24's have about 75 to 80 amp hours of capacity, or 150 to 160 total. Two golf cart batteries will give you about 220 amp hours of capacity. I think two type 27's are around 200 to 210 if I remember correctly.
