troubleshooting onan generator gold 5500
does anyone know where I can find info on this gen set. it runs sometimes and then shuts itself off. noticed black carbon-soot coming out of exhaust. read somewhere that it has a plug to remove excess carbon. does anyone have info on this problem? thanks, capt ken

I'm gonna guess it's running too rich. You might want to check the carb float.
