black tank flush clog

2013 30' International Signature

I took the trailer in for some last minute warranty checks and repairs, one of which was that the black tank flusher did not seem to be flowing with water into the tank. So, when I picked it up he showed me that the spritzer gadget that is mounted to the tank, from which the water sprays, was all clogged up with, well, the brown stuff that is usually in the black tank.

(why is it not called a "brown lumps-with-occasional-white-flashes tank"?
OK i guess thats too long)

heres the real question: How do I keep this from happening and if it does happen again how do I unclog it without a 2.5 hour labor charge? Is there something that i can run into the sprayer inlet to unclog it?

has anyone experienced this? and how did you remedy?

Regular use will help.

It would appear that you did not flush after your last dump. Otherwise, the crud would have not had a chance to dry.

If you are continuing to use the tank, flushing should not be needed every time, but if you are going to leave the tank dry for any length of time, you should flush it, for the tank and the spray wand benefit.

How to save the labour charges? Fill the black tank, with water, add dish detergent, and let it soak for a day or so. That should work.
