Noisy compressor

I was testing the renewed plumbing on my 63 trailer, all works well after a few leaks that where soon treated but the original small compressor that gives pressure to the tank is very noisy, it looks like the airstream has it's own motor! Do you know guys any way to cure this fault? Or should I replace it and with what?

Thank you for any help

Do you have a pressurized water system and the air compressor is loud? That is common. Some have replaced the compressor and installed a water pump on the output of the water tank making it an on demand system.

The air compressor only runs when the pressure in the tank drops below a certain level. You can shut off the pump so it does not come on in the middle of the night.

Mine runs a bit too hot and I wonder if it would be a good idea to open it and clean it. I just would like to have a look at it's diagram and understand what type of oil it uses, do you know where to find it?

Just did a oil change on the compressor and it is now cooling better, I just wonder if there is any type of running, it is working more often now like every hour...

I had a oil change on my compressor, it runs more silent and less hot but now it works more often and when it stops it keeps running silently like a kind of auto ignition. I have to unbolt a screw with a washer on top of cylinder and close the hole with my finger to make it stop. I think the returning valve is not working, anybody knows how to fix this?
