Vista view windows.

Hi all,
I am very new to the Airstream seen and I am looking for some advise on the vista view windows.
I am currently working on my 1962 22' safari.
I am looking to fit bunk beds across the rear of my trailer where the bathroom used to be, but the rear window is too big to have one bed below it and one above it, I don't really want to have the top bunk going across the middle of the window so my idea is this. I'm thinking of removing the complete rear panel including the window, replacing it with a new panel and then cutting in two vista view windows so the bunk beds can have a window each. The bottom window will have to be smaller than the top one because it needs to fit between the tail lights. Has anybody seen this, heard of or tried this before? I'm still very unsure about the appearance this will give of the trailer. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Why not put the bunk across the window? If you're worried about privacy or breakage, you could easily put a translucent lexan panel across the inside.

We put the removable bunk bed across the window in our 25' 1971 Tradewind. Our upper bunk is removable. Below it is a dinette that converts to a single bed. Most of the time, when it's just the two of us, we have the dinette set up with the window to look out of.

When we need the bunk, we set up the removable bunk platform (plywood reinforced with heavy aluminum angle). Some of the window show above, and some below. We use a roller shade on the window so it is not subject to damage by a sleeping person as mini blinds might be. Both bunks have the option of getting window light. If we wanted the lower to have dark while the upper had light, we might set up two roller blinds. With only vista view windows, the lower bunk is always in darkness. That's a whole lot easier than rebuilding the whole side of your trailer. Plus, if anyone wanted to change the configuration, that window would be gone. I don't see it as worth the effort.

Thanks for the reply Webspinner, I didn't even think about having a dinette I was just looking at fixed bunks.
I will mock up that design in the trailer to see how it looks.
