Electrical cover

While backing my 2013 25 foot Serenity into its spot, I somehow snagged the electrical cover at the rear of my trailer and broke it. It's basically hanging by the small wires in the cover. I didn't damage anything else. I think I had the cover open and snagged it on a vine hanging down. Does anyone know where i can order one and has anyone ever replaced one? I haven't taken the screws out yet but it doesn't seem too difficult. This is the first blemish on our new trailer. And yes, I cut that wisteria back immediately. Thanks.

I'm not laughing at you. Really! It's just that I haven't done that one.
Yet.

Most functional components on Airstreams are not Airstream-specific. We have a local RV parts store in Phoenix where one can buy nearly all electrical, plumbing and mechanical hardware parts (except those dang, funky Swedish, swing-out, cabinet door hinges -- where the heck did Airstream find those?).

What we can't find at Al's RV, we can usually find at West Marine, down the street. In fact, marine parts stores carry a lot of stainless steel parts that were designed for saltwater use. So, if you can get past their high cost, these parts look great on Airstreams and will last forever.

Here's a sample link to a connector on West Marine's Web site:

MARINCO Inlet at West Marine

I don't know exactly which cover you broke, but you can probably find it on one of these two sites. Then, you can look on www.amazon.com to see if you can find a better price.

Was the part made by Furrion? Give them a call and tell them what happened. They were really good when I ask about the LED not working. The gentlemen I spoke with shipped me a replacement for free, and I had it in 3 or 4 days. I asked if I should have gone through Airstream, and he said not to bother, he could do it faster and with less questions.

It is really easy to replace... Good Luck

Yes it is made by Furrion. Thanks for the tip. I will give them a call tomorrow. I found some on the web but they look white, not the grey i have. The Furrion website showed the correct one. Maybe they will feel sorry for me. Thanks.

Dave, If you have to pay for a replacement look at the price difference between the one on your trailer and what is available. I think they offer a chrome version It looks nicer than plastic...

If I remember, it might seem as if you are getting a run around, but your not. I think the gentleman who helped me was in CT, and I'm in MO... It was still a great customer experience...

Good news. I contacted Furrion, the company that makes the electrical inlet and Mark Curry the VP responded and is sending me a new one free of charge. Now that is some great customer service!

That is great service. I'm tempted to get one or these.

I replaced the front electrical socket, the side socket and the TV input with the chrome model....they look fantastic. BTW, I did NOT have good luck with the LED indicator. They both failed in the first year.

Dave, that's great news. Good luck!
The LED indicator is a 'neat' feature, but if they fail again I will consider chrome...
