towing with out brakes?

Can I tow a 31 ft. airstream just a few miles without electric brakes or special anti sway device? I hate to purchase all that for a 5 mile tow to our local park?

If you got enough tow vehicle with enough brakes and don't exceed 25mph I don't see why not. But it sure would be safer if you did.
Maybe the previous owner would lend you the hitch or better yet the vehicle they pulled it with for the she short hour it would take to move it and get it lined up in the space.

Thumbs down Not too kewl of an Idea~

Mary Ellen
I know it doesn't sound like far but, you know that most nearly all accidents happen within a very short distance of "home".~
Don't take the chance..
I'd say, it's cheaper to pay a "pro" to tow it for you~
Ask for help..Sound advice was mention by 59toaster.
You don't wanta mess up your A/S...

Thumbs up wisconsin

mary ellen

welcome to the forum.

i see you are from wisconsin, whoohoo! another cheese head!

i would recommend not towing something as heavy as your trailer without brakes for any distance.

ask around, some one might be able to help you out that has a tow vehicle set up for this task.

I don't think it would be a real big issue for only a few miles if you used extreme caution (and have a robust enough vehicle and brakes), but the question I have is what are you going to do later?

Is this a one time buy and tow to a final resting place? If not, you are going to need to do it anyway.

Regards,

Eric
