Trailer Tire Mileage

I have a 2005 25' Safari with the OEM Goodyear tires. I have about 10,000 miles on the trailer. I am wondering what kind of mileage I will get before they need replacement.

I ran the original tires 32K with rotating them. But with all the horor stories about Goodyear tires about 23K is prabably enough especially if they get over 3 years old.
I have 74k on a 2001 Safari.

What tires did you replace the OEM's with?

Marathons

Trailer came with Marathon ST 225 / 75 R 15 w/ S D rating (steel valve stems rated over 65psi)
I have stayed with the Marathons but would like a better tire. 2 years ago at the Antelope Rally in Medicine Bow a 31ft Classic owner was showing off his Wall Mart E rated Carlisles because he would blow the Marathons on ever trip. I seen him again last Feb at the Hobo Rally in Blythe Calf.. THe Carlisles also blew out and he sold them to the guy parked next to him.
Below pic
We had 3 flats at one time and 6 flats in 9 days above the Artic Circle on the Dempster Highway to Inuvik Northwest Territory. The road was covered with sharp shale for 50 miles above the Aritic Circle. Great trip. No problem with traffic on the Dempter, the area was a feeding ground for grizzlies eating Cloud Berries.

I am beginning to wonder if going to a radial LT tire would be a better option for some folks. I still run 7.00-15 bias ply and have no problems. They are LT's.

I've had similar questions. I'm now just getting past 3 years of use of my stock Marathons. Given all the issues, I'm not sure which route to take. I almost hate to say it, but my Marathons are still in pretty good shape and haven't given me any issues yet.....now watch, I've totally jinxed myself and will have a blowout next trip.

I probably have 20000 miles (mostly interstate, at 60-65 mph) on my 3 year old Goodyear Marathons, and hope they give me one more year and then I'll replace them.

I had them trued and the running gear balanced when we first bought the trailer, I put 303 UV Protectant on the tires several times during the year, and store the trailer inside much of the time from mid-October to early June. I also always keep them fully inflated at 65psi.

My tires look practically brand new, and who knows they might give me another couple years of use, but I'm not going to be penny wise and pound foolish. If I stored my trailer outside year round, towed more on rough roads, etc., I would have consided putting new ones on sooner.
