New Axles

Has anyone heard from Colin Hyde in the last two weeks? I have axels on order for nine weeks and can not get in touch with him.

He may have been closed for the Holidays, not sure. I called today and only got an answering machine. (I did not leave a message.)

Let us know your result in the next 48 hours as others may be very interested as well.

I believe so he is their only distributor according to the internet.
They are based in Elkhart Indiana.
That is where they are drop shipped from.
But I would love for Colin to chime in and correct any misinformation I may have forwarded here on the internet. !!!

Be patient, I know Colin is just expanding his shop to more than twice the area, he's likely very busy expanding and hiring new help, I'm sure he'll chime in shortly.

Trying to be patient , however having money already out there it tends to make you a little nervous.
It would go a long way if Colin had an out of office message set up on his e mails and phone system. Or a message on his webpage or simply responding to someone would be the professional thing to do. Where would you draw the line ? The initial understanding was 3 to 4 weeks . I completely understand the holidays and weather play an important role in this time frame . but when do you say enough is enough , when do you go from being patient to being a victim ?

I experienced the same issues back in September and October. Once the axels shipped I got an email everyday from the shipper letting me know where they were at. It seem Colin has many irons in the fire
I must say that when you do get ahold of him he is VERY generous with his time and knowledge

I ordered my second set of axles from Colin Dec 17. We talked for a while and he told me then how busy he was. He is expanding his physical building by 100% and all the other things that entails. Hiring, remodeling, acquiring tools, and a couple million other things. Been there, done that. Not a lot of spare time going around with him right now.

That said, I have found him to be extremely knowledgeable and honest. I look forward to doing business with him again, and would like to congratulate him on his well deserved expansion which in the long run will be very beneficial to Vintage Airstream.

Axles

I've ordered 3 axles from Colin and am about to order another for my single Axle 62 Safari. I like the options Colin can offer with his axles. Axis axles? I also like the ability to grease 'em up without taking apart the axle. He also offers Zolatone painting services. That's the next phase of my project... Colin could be in Florida. Maybe a clue on the VAP as to his whereabouts? Where in the world is Colin?
