Forever A/C?

I was recently advised to check the 4 bolts that hold my Penguin a/c to the roof just to make sure that they were secure and the gasket sufficiently compressed. So I did. Well, there were 2 bolts up front, none in the rear and no gasket. It was held in place with sikaflex or whatever the factory was using at the time. Is that possible from JC? It's a 2007 model sold to the original owners in 2008 and purchased by me 1 year later. So it's possible that it was replaced under warranty somewhere else. Anyway, I don't need to remove it now but someday I might. Can anyone recommend the best explosive material for the job?

That air conditioner uses a drip pan, and lots of Vulkem. No gasket. You will probably find a third hold-down bolt centered at the rear of the hole, rather than two on the corners.

Thanks overlander. Third bolt in the rear middle. So is the sequence of assembly vulkem--drain pan--vulkem--a/c unit? How would they remove it at the shop?

They would remove the air conditioner by removing it from the drain pan. Usually it is held there by some double sided sticky tape between the pan and the bottom of the a/c.
