Lightbulb Less expensive refrigerator door gaskets

I have 2 older dometic RV refrigerators both have hard to find gaskets. When you do find them they are very expensive. I happen to be in the refrigeration repair trade, mostly larger commercial units. I am considering reproducing some Dometic and Norcold door gaskets for the vintage units and maybe more current ones also. I have been contacting manufacturers and it will take some start up money but its do-able as long as there is a demand out there. Please leave a message here if you have needed gaskets for your RV frige and paid ridiculous amount or just couldnt find it. I think I could sell high quality reproduction gaskets for half of what they go for normally. Please leave aprox year, make and model of frige so I get some idea of whats in demand. Thanks

Dometic door gasket

Thanks for sharing your idea about reproducing a fair price replacement door gaskets for Dometic Frig.

I have Dometic RM 763 that certainty could benefit from replacement door seals.

Keep us posted as to your development.

I could use one. 1975 Sovreign. Dometic RM 77. I think the gasket is good. It was just so filthy and nasty when we got it (we are restoring) that I want to replace it.

Just joined Forum today. We have 1970 Safari Land Yacht and have not been able to find gaskets, don't even know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Just bought a gasket for my 1962 Dometic from Hotel Supply Warehouse for $18.00 plus shipping. 10 foot length, generic gasket.

For what it’s worth, we are in the process of converting a 1957 Dometic M16 propane/120vac fridge to a 120vac/12vdc fridge. We rebuilt the box and a new “E” gasket on the door. We ordered the gasket from barefridgeration.com. Giving them the length and width, the gasket fit perfectly. The corners were seam welded. All was a reasonable price compared to others. I have that noted on our rebuild thread #197. Good luck, Bubba
