Dometic RM 2500 Operation Questions

I have a 66 Tradewind with an RM 52 Dometic refrig. It works fine on electric, but I have not been able to get it to work on gas. Anyhow, I stumbled accross a good deal on an RM 2500, about a 1984 model, but it has only been used for 2 years. Anyhow it fits perfectly, but I have some questions that I can not get answered even from the Dometic Operating Instuction Manual. It looks like it will run off 120 v ac, 12v dc and propane. It appears to have automatic ignition. Question- Do I need to connect up a 12v line to the fridge for it to operate on propane? Also there is a 3 position toggle switch on the left side (to the left of C from the figure on page 3). What does each position do? Also, there are 2 12v terminal blocks. Do I need to connect 12v to each one? Is one terminal block for operation of the automatic ignition and is the other for operation of the heater? I think so, but which is which? The heater takes 15 amps and the auto igniter requires about one amp, so do I run a separate fused wire to each 12v terminal block? Seems rather strange that this detailed info is not clear in the factory installation and operating instructions.
