WA Land Yacht Harbor

We are going to WA this year and thinking about staying at the AS park. Has anyone stayed there? Do you have to be a WBCCI member or just own an AS?

Thanks, BadKat

We have stayed there several times. It is a fine place. I think you have to be a WBCCI member.

You do not have to be a member to stay but a WBCCI membership will get you a nice discount. There are some semi permanents there now too.

We stopped by last summer and decided it wasn't for us. Try one of the casino RV parks. Reasonable and much nicer. There is one in Shelton another in Oakville. We've stayed at both. Another option would be most anywhere on the Olympic peninsula. Don't miss the national parks. We lived in the Puget Sound area for 40 years and still visit often from Oregon. July and August is the best for weather. Port Townsend is a great destination. Fort Worden SP and Point Hudson RV Park in PT are first rate with great vistas and lots of interesting history.

Whenever we go to Seattle we make LYH our home base. It is just a gravel lot with full hookups, adjacent to the community, but I feel safe there surrounded by other Airstreamers, it's well kept up, and has a security fence. There are lots of food options nearby. Of course, if we were going to the beach or the Olympics or something, we would stay closer to there, but for a city trip, I think this is a fine place to stop, and it's only a 40 minute drive into Seattle.

Another option

When visiting the Seattle metro area, Tolt-MacDonald King County Park is a perfect option. Located east of Redmond in Carnation it is quiet, on a river, reasonably priced, grassy, with spacious sites, water/electric hookups, showers, a dump station, and much closer to downtown Seattle than Lacey. Reservations @ 206 477-6149. We've stayed numerous times and haven't found anyplace in the metro area with better amenities. A hidden secret.......until now. btw: the travel time from the Olympia area to Seattle is substantially more than 40 minutes. My career traveling the Puget Sound area for 40 years attests to this fact. Welcome to the Pacific NW from a friendly native. Another recommendation: avoid taking your rig on a ferry unless you have deep pockets. Use the Tacoma Narrows bridge to get to the Olympic peninsula. No toll west bound.
