Great job!

PLVMB:

Congratulations on the purchase and delicate extraction of Curtis from his just-out-of sight resting place for decades. There was a lot of great teamwork in getting him back on the road again. He appears to be in excellent condition inside, a truly great state of affairs. And you have the right proper Dodge CTD to tow him with, complete with its horny Ram up front. I'm sure you will have superb fun with this project. Carry on joyfully!

Hi Everyone, I have been blown away by what has been inside Curtis everything from a Christmas gift from 1955 a foldable trout net, unused first aid kits from the 40's, clothing, coveralls from 1948, awning and poles, ports potty, vintage camping shower. Here are some of the goodies. My favorite was the families name in crayon. Curtis is more of a museum than a trailer at this point in his life. I have scrubbed Curtis down to find he has NO scuffs or scrapes from traveling or being parked!!!

Admire your tenacity... 2 to 5 more years and a bucket full of cash.....

Truly it is a great find, glad for YOU. I will enjoy watching from a safe distance.

Hi everyone, I just finished another silver streak clipper. I had just enough brass screen left to redo the vents on Curtis.

I have pulled the windows out of Curtis to put new back frame seal and new glass seal. I am going very slow with Curtis. Part of me regrets pulling his windows he is not original anymore, However he will be sealed up. I don't plan on polishing Curtis I want to clean him up the best I can and get him roadworthy

No Regrets!

Curtis appreciates what you are doing. Just a little breath of fresh air is all he needs. He knows you are helping to preserve him for another 70 years to come.

CHEERS!

Hi Everyone, I thought I would update everyone on Curtis. I have pulled all the windows and installed new gaskets then riveted them back with solid rivets, Because I am mental and wanted it done right I had to pull the entire interior to get at the backside. Curtis has the same issue most have the aluminum outriggers are toast. Curtis is getting a new pipe frame. I will post pictures of the progress soon as I can.

Love to see another one on the way to rescue

Have you entered its VIN on the Curtis Wright Registery? Costs nothing. There is even a decal for the Registery. Look at the Tin Can Tourist brand info site for address of Registery and picture of decal

We have a Model 1 and 5

Just found Curtis (and you) now, WOW, what a find! I love all of the history you discovered in him. Love the barkcloth fabric you chose; period correct for sure. Please post more.
