November Photo Contest - "I Second That Emotion"

It's a honor to select this months theme. I hope this one isn't to unusual!

During Urban Air, Dawn and I were interviewed for an upcoming film project. We were asked what "live riveted" means to us. Well, that's not an easy thing to answer. Back in my former sailing life, a similar statement was used. It was living "the Hobie way of life" (HobieCats). Basically, it was a sail hard, play hard, type of thing.

Airstreaming is "living riveted". To me, it's "come for the silver, stay for the people".

I invite you to submit a image that invokes an emotion. It could be the happiness of a good potluck, the tragedy of a rollover, or the peacefulness of the forest at dawn.

Bonus points for an Airstream in the image. Double bonus for the story behind the image.

You want emotion - how about this?

S/he walks into the Airstream and announces, "I've enjoyed the journey, but I've met someone else."

Now, how does one express the import of those "emotions" into a photograph - with those preferred "bonus points" - the capture of one's trailer in said image?

lol! Funny.

I had no idea what to post in this thread -- until late yesterday.

My travelling companion (the beagle) was off her food last week. The vet did some bloodwork. Yesterday afternoon he phoned. She has cancer.

You want emotion?

Yesterday was not a good day.

I don't know what I'll do when she's gone. Airstreaming (or any RV'g without a dog) is a vapid endeavour, IMO. You may see the FaN listed in the classified.
(Like the dog, she's a good one).

So....will post a picture of the beagle on one of our past journeys...later.

FAN- so very sorry for the news. I know it is so very hard right now and I wish you both the best. Our furry friends creep into our hearts, grab on and never let go- it is the way of it, and I am thankful for that. You are in my thoughts and prayers- my emotional contribution to this thread, I guess....hugs to you both!

It's tough when you lose a beloved traveling companion. We still mourn Quinn, the smartest and bestest buddy our family ever had.

It took a while to get over the immediate sense of loss, but there are many other dogs out there that deserve rescuing. WD now have others. Not replacements, but, as I have heard elsewhere, "Who rescued who?"

Teddy and his brothers in fur are all rescues, from shelters, or right off the street in the case of two of them. We again have dogs to cuddle and tell our deepest secrets to, and we love them for who they are. We will never forget Quinn, but I have found, in my 68+ years on the planet, that all dogs have the ability to fill human deep needs for furry companionship.

I know it's hard. Teddy died of incurable cancer way too young, and we still mourn his passing. Just don't give up on life, family and traveling--when you are ready, rescue another dog, FAN, and keep the fond memories of your little buddy. He'll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Along with my Teddy and Sassy, and all the others, to greet us when we pass....

Emotion

First off....to Fan....having lost many pets in my years, I can fully understand the deep loss when one of our loved ones is given bad news. I will be thinking often of you, FaN.

For the photo depicting emotion....almost all of my AS photos I think have emotion, but this one from Farmington, the sitting around as the sun goes down, the camaraderie, the evening, well, I think this is what I see here:

Had a "sibling" weekend this past weekend at Ormond Beach. We so enjoyed sitting under our awning sharing memories and catching up on each other's family! Life is a calming good when I'm in our Airstream!Click image for larger version

We met 42 years ago and, after knowing each other for three days, promised ourselves that someday we'd travel around the country together in a cool rig. Someday finally came...

Why Didn't I Think of This Earlier?......

.....I actually do carry these signs around when on the road because they ignite a tremendous amount of emotion......in others.....

While at a RV park/campground with lots of kids running around, I tape this to the inside of the FaN's rear window......

However, I think this is my very favourite. If I am at a RV park/campground and am the only Airstream there, I will elect to post this one.....

But....they never leave me bereft of emotion either.

It makes me very happy.

#2 seems a bit rude for a Canadian. You folks are usually much more polite with your insults.
