I have seen an Argosy that was painted white. It looked quite nice. I have also seen a Airstream painted by a hippy. Well...beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

The other day I saw a late model Ford PU what had been layered with plastic camouflage film. I first thought it was a paint job and I went over and talked to the owner. He said it was a camouflage film he had purchased on the internet and he applied it himself. He did a really careful and superb job.

I wonder if a film might not be a possibility. Or cover the whole thing in a 3M mask, which is sometimes used by motorhome owners as a front cover/mask.

I just looked on Google. Lots of film products, including 3M, clear, colored, camouflage, pictures, etc. It appears these things last 5 or 6 years, then need to be taken off and reapplied. Doable, but not easy. Not sure if the seams would leak.

But think about an entire AS in camouflage. Would take some getting used to.

I've seen a completely blacked out Jeep, with the ultra, it looked fantastic in person.

I would be curious as to it's flexibility as an entire skin covering. With normal vehicles all the body parts are sperate pieces, that move independently, with the potential movement of the Airstream body, I would be concerned with how well the rivet areas would hold up over time.

Did you do the LineX Ultra? I am looking at the same thing. An Airstream dealer replaced a panel prior to my purchase. Figured it wasn't a big deal, but of course it leaks. I'm concerned it leaks in places I cannot see as well as the places I can. I'm not putting silicone over every rivet LOL.

Only downside I can see to LineX ultra is weight and I'm sure it will be very expensive. Someone else will buy it as long as it looks good as far as resale.

You know I love the interior of my Airstream, but I've never been a fan of the Rivets and Sealant everywhere. I think it would look much better painted with a coating to cover up all the rivets and sealant. Thinking maybe Airstream are not for me.

I have learned to be more afraid of dump trucks than hail. If you see them coming up from behind, cut them off and don't let them pass!!! Or speed up!
