We have never called Wally to make a reservation, we just pull in...if it is not posted (I only know of one in NH that does not allow overnight), we slide in back and get a few hours "rest"...we never "camp" at Wallys. Never once been asked to leave...

But if you don't like Wally's...you can always go here;

Cabela's: Store Information - East Hartford, CT

OTH; by the time you get thru NY...you are only 3 hrs from RI?

is this any help?
The I-95 Exit Guide | Connecticut Rest Areas and Welcome Centers

the nj turnpike has rest areas too.

check the info for the george washington bridge. i'm not sure about rv's but the car tolls are higher during rush hour. if you go that way, watch out for the low sewers in left/right lanes. the center lane is best but still a bad road for the first 10 miles or so going north.

i don't see any issues if you're only staying a few hours.

If you'd like to by-pass NYC, and I think it a good idea, it's real easy. If you're coming up 81 stay on it to I84 and take it up into Connecticut. The only hassle would be Hartford, Ct. during rush hour. Any other time it's OK. If you're coming up 95 you can follow it over the Del. Mem. Bridge and north onto the NJ turnpike. From the turnpike exit. 10 will put you right onto Rt. 287 and you can swing all around NYC and never even see the skyline. Both are easy by-passes and good roads.

If you're on 95 and would like to by-pass the tolls it's also easy but a little more detailed. Let me know and I can give you a route. I think the NJ turnpike toll for me and my trailer was about $12.50 for exit 9 south to exit 1. Yours northbound would be about the same.

Have a good trip and drive carefully

also, if you're going in the next 5 days i'd check road conditions due to the flooding that is going on.

Lucky You. Not always so efficient. You chose a good route when it works. I guess you're not towing a trailer.

Enjoy the ride

I've been advised the parkways on Rt 15 don't permit trailers. Maybe others can confirm.
