Midwest Boondocking in the Huron National Forest

Just spent several days boondocking in the Huron National Forest East of Mio, MI. Didn't cost a cent and the weather was wonderful (lower 50's at night and lower 70's during the day). No light pollution in the night sky, watched shooting stars and the Northern Lights. Did not see another person the entire time. Ran on batteries for 3.5 days and then used the gen. to recharge. Check out your National Forest lands for some really out there camping.....Tim

Whereabouts were you at? We had checked out Wagner lake last year and thought it looked like a nice area. Just haven't been able to make it up and give it a try.

Thanks for the tip! My wife and I are headed to the UP at the end of September for a week of boondocking. Hoping to make it all the way to the Porcupine Mountains!
