Hello!
So we've been using a very mild orange sol product (
Contractor Solvent) that is safe to use on just about anything, to remove the caulk (both silicone and Vulkem) around the windows.
I noticed something the other day that is somewhat concerning, but I can't remember if it was there before and was just covered by dirt/silicone or if the solvent has caused discoloration on the clearcoat/aluminum around the windows (see photos).
Does anyone know:
- If this is just the clear coat that is showing discoloration, implying that once we remove the clear coat it will no longer be there?
- If it is NOT the clear coat, would it possibly be removed in the polishing process?
As always, I appreciate any help or recommendations anyone could provide!
