thermostat wire hook up 1973 Argosy

I forgot to document which wire went where when I removed the divider that the thermostat is attached to on my 1973 argosy. The colors coming from the thermostat do not match the color wires coming out to the wall. Does any one have a picture or that information?

I just remembered there is a light above the thermostat and I did see that the thermostat has 2 blue wires going to it in my furnace wiring diagram. I bet the two gray wires go to the light. Can any one confirm this?

In general, the blue thermostat wires should remain blue to the furnace. That is, even Argosy, which did a lot of things strangely, didn't change wire colors in the wall. Now, from your post, it is not clear that you checked the color of the wires at the back of the thermostat. Did you?

You could put an ohm meter on the wires and then turn the thermostat up until it clicks, and see if the resistance on the wires decreases to near zero. That would confirm the pair for the thermostat.

If you look at the picture there are blue wires coming out of the wall which I said I do have as correct from my diagram. Its the wires coming from the thermostat that are not matching up. I will look at the wires coming off the light and the thermostat like you suggest and that should tell me what's what thanks for the input.

They are hooked up and working! BTW the gray ones where for the thermostat and go to the blue wires. The black and green ones from the light go to the white and purple ones coming out of the wall.
