Greetings Airstreamers,
We purchased a 73 Airstream International (31ft.) about 6 weeks ago.The trailer was "as is", but saw great potential with many original parts still intact. So far, we have qualified for that "Dirty Jobs" tv show with septic system that looked like it was never flushed or emptied. We took the trailer to a service shop last night to have the wheels/axles/brakes checked. Lost a wheel along the way, but luckily we were heading to the right place.
Our goal is to get the trailer in shape this year, so that we can take our kids to see the states before camping with their parents isn't "cool" anymore.
The discussion threads have answered many of our tough repair questions. We learned everything from how to repair the tambour doors, to how to pinpoint the leaks in the roof. Thanks for everything.
Take Care,
Braunes
