I've spent a lot of time here researching Airstreams. We bought our first trailer 6 years ago after years of tent camping. We always loved the look of Airstreams and visited Jackson Center 2 summers ago to tour the factory. The time is finally right for us.
After visiting the Hershey show and talking to Patrick from Colonial Airstream, we purchased a 2016 Flying Cloud 28A. It will be another 2 weeks till we can get to New Jersey to pick it up. I'm sure we will have plenty of questions very soon.
Thanks for all the knowledge shared here. Hopefully as we become a part of the Airstream community we can make some new friends and contribute here as well.
Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Congratulations on your new baby. May you have safe travels, and many great Airstreams Adventures with her.

We've had our Airstream a little over a week and have been overall pleased. Colonial was pleasant to work with. The day we picked up the trailer it was pouring rain. We did our pdi / orientation inside one of their maintenance bays. Had a couple of minor issues. The biggest thing we caught at the pdi was the grommet for the backup camera was not installed in the outer skin of the trailer. I'm sure that would have been a water leak issue.
Camping this past weekend we didn't have water hook ups and were using the on board water and pump. The water line to the pump wasn't tight and made a big puddle on the floor. Easy fix, but glad we caught it early before it pumped gallons of water onto the floor.
I also spent some time on the roof yesterday installing vent covers. I needed to add a little sealant at a few places where the factory did a poor job on the seams.
The biggest disappointment has been the dirt and debris inside the trailer. I understand a certain amount of sawdust and aluminum chips. When fixing the loose fitting on the water pump, I found a foot long piece of black pvc rolling around behind the pump. An extra 10 minutes on the production floor with a shop vac really should happen when you consider the premium you pay for these trailers.
Like I said we are happy with our purchase and are glad the few things so far have been minor easy fixes. I'll be glad when we get through the first year of ownership and hopefully have all the bugs worked out.
