newbie (67 globetrotter)
Hi all ,enjoy reading the posts, great site. After 5 yrs of enjoying our globetrotter & the additon of 2 more dogs,we are a bit cramped now,so found & won a nice clean 69 overlander on e-bay.Problem is i,m in N California & trailer is in Ohio, oops Have got some quotes from companies to transport it which are all in the $1.10 a mile range, which adds quite a bit to the trailer cost ,am looking into flying& renting a truck which after gas etc wont be that much cheaper than hiring one of these companies.Any other suggestions to getting my baby home.Any onedriving to California soon that can tow, perhaps?Worst comes to worst i,ll drive the 5,000 miles to pick it up with my truck. Thanks in advance for any input.Ian

Where is your new trailer located in Ohio. Here's a thought - if you can get some volunteers spanned across the country - maybe we could relay it to you.....

Relay Program
Transporting a trailer across the country is always a daunting task. A relay program would be great, but the individual liability might be greater. Best of luck to you in getting the AS home safely and economically.

69,er transporting
That had crossed my mind ,Kevin & would indeed be a worry ,for me waiting & probably for the person towing .Fortunately the guy selling ,is very accomodating ,& is giving me plenty of time to pick it up.That gives me a bit of time to elplore every avenue on this one .Trying not to add too much on top of the price of the trailer, but may have to bite the bullet & pay for it to be proffesionally transported.Ian

I have to agree that it is a daunting task. Just running to Atlanta from Chicago was a trip. Best of luck with the new trailer!!
