looking for a Bambi

I am in love with the idea of being out on the road in one of these beautiful little homes. I don't see myself being able to haul one of the bigger trailers as I have always driven little Hondas and besides I didn't learn to drive till I was 25 years old. My mom always said I was a late bloomer. I want to buy a Bambi that needs a little work if anyone has one for sale. I am a complete novice but I am starting to read up on them. Thank-you fellow lovers of beautiful Airstreams. Madeline

Welcome to the Forums, Madeline. We're glad to have you with us.

The first thing to decide is whether you are interested in new, late model, or vintage. The vintage Bambi's are are much lighter than than the new ones. As such, they can be pulled by a lighter duty tow vehicle.

A small Honda sedan would probably not be a suitable two vehicle for any Airstream. A Honda Ridgeline would most likely work for a Bambi. A Honda sedan could possibly handle a teardrop (SOB) camper trailer.

Go on airstream.com and take a look at the new Safari Sport. It's cute. light, and a good value for a new Airstream. Also hit Ebay and look at what is available there. This will will give you some insight into prices.

Take a look at these. Come back on the Forums, and ask any questions that you might have. We're here to help. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Brian
