I'm new to this site, don't even own an airstream YET but hope to someday. Meanwhile, I hope to gather info by attending rallies in area plus reading about Airstream owners have experienced while restoring older Airstreams. Will appreciate your comments, advice about how to begin: what to look for when purchasing older trailer, what to avoid. Thank you!

Welcome, from Mansfield Tx. There is a ton of information to be found about Aiistreams on this site just use the search bar at the top or click on forums and pick a subject. Check the classifieds listings in this forum. If you find a trailer that is a long distance away, there's a list of owners who could check it out for you. Ther is a vintage ralley at Mckinney Falls state park near Austin this weekend. I'm sure anyone interested in airstreams would be welcome.
