Greetings from the middle of the best scenery in America!

Beautiful country only 4 hours away in any direction. Good ol' Kansas joke for you. Aside from the wind it's actually very nice here.

My wife and I have 2 kids (ages 5 & 2) and our third due in August. We really enjoy travelling and want to get back into the outdoors. Plus, life seems to get busy and we're wanting to get some undistracted family time.

We currently have an older Hi-Lo that sees infrequent weekend use. It has been fun but there isn't the space for our growing family in there anymore. It's basically a decent overnighter that's not exactly road worthy for any considerable distance.

We have looked at a few models and you can now classify our Airstream fever an obsession. If we were buying today I think we'd get a 28' International. I don't want to rush into anything, so we'll take our time looking and deciding what's the best fit for all of us. In the meantime, thanks for all the help you guys share! I look forward to the entire experience.

Not to knock a jayhawker, but we're originally flatlanders (Abilene and Topeka)and Wildcats! It's great to hear someone from Kansas on these forums. We hardly see any AS's when we go back home. We have the 28' CCD and love it. In fact we're traveling back to KS in a couple of weeks to stay at Lake Shawnee Campground in Topeka to help my in-laws on an estate sale. You're welcome to drop by and visit our CCD if you're interested. Send me a PM.

Last fall we finally made it to Kansas as we were travelling to and fro Colorado and back. We were enchanted. Outbound, we stopped in Emporia and then followed the Santa Fe Trail to Dodge City - stopping at the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, Ft Larned, Pawnee Rock and the whole shebang. Avoided the interstate pretty much completely coming and going. Then on the way back, we followed the Pony Express Route.

We loved the trip and your state.

Good luck with your Airstream dreams.

Pat
