Dying and going to heaven

Hello, Santa brought us a 23' Safari! Never had an a/s before but always wanted one. I had researched them in the past on this site and found it very helpful and insightful while remaining entertaining and super friendly.
I am in Virginia for Christmas and planning to head home to Florida stopping in Chatanooga along the way. I can't wait to get out of the driveway and go. Thanks for such a great site. Hardy

Hi Hardy,
Welcome!
To a lesser degree, I am also feeling what you do. I got a new to me trailer this week also, although it is not my first A/S. Pretty cool feeling, just got back from it's maiden voyage with no issues.
Congrats on your purchase. Are you camping in it on the way to FL?
Nice to have another member here,
Dave

Welcome Hardy and congratulations on your new Airstream.

When I read your title for this post I thought perhaps one of our fine fellow AIR Forums members had gone to that great Campground in the sky today. Whew.

I know how I felt when I got my Airstream home - I honestly cannot say that any other acquisition I've ever made felt so perfect. We've never once regretted it.

Have fun with your new baby.

And Merry Christmas,
Barry

Welcome Hardy,
And congratulations on the new acquisition.....what a nice Christmas present! I am a fairly new owner myself, having purchased our new Safari October. Have a safe and memorable trip home and when you stop in Chattanooga.....enjoy some of the best wings on the planet at "Sticky Fingers."

Sorry for the scare with the title (especially on Christmas) i thought it would go to a member introduction section and hopefully make someone laugh. I should have explained that the Airstream was a total suprise for Christmas. I couldn't believe it! I've been camping out in the driveway refusing to leave. I don't understand why they stay in the house when there is an Airstream right outside.
I am leaving Virginia for Florida this Thursday and will camp along the way. I am planning to visit friends in Tennessee along the way and have to be back in S. Florida for work just after the New Year. Thanks for the welcomes and congratulations. So much fun! Hardy

You must be livin' right if Santa is surprising you with gifts like that!

We are a long way from camping season, so I just went out and visited with my trailer for a bit. I must say, this will be our fifth season together, and I still love it. In fact I've had the opportunity to upgrade to something bigger and fancier (but still a vintage Airstream) and I just don't have the heart.

Oh, that would just be the temptation of Darol's beautiful 68 TW. But I am resisting. I just cannot part with my wee little Caravel!

So, get the TW and keep the Caravel...certainly your heart is big enough to love both!

My hearts is, but my under-cover storage and my wallet are both a bit more limited!

Why, Tom, I am disappointed in you! You didn't tell Aluminit about the Can Opener!!!! If you can attend the first, yes, I said, first, Airstream of the year, you must! It will be in Destin on January 4-6. Lots of forum folks to meet and you must get started right away!!!

If you are coming through Chattanooga after December 31, feel free to contact me. I'll be in Maryland until then.

Congrats on your Christmas gift!
