Hello!

I'm Clayton from Wisconsin. Many hours of my life have been spent lurking on Air Forums for solutions and expertise, but I have never participated. I decided I should start paying the community back a bit by helping and jumping in where I can. Besides, who doesn't love talking about Airstreams?



Currently we are working on a 1958 globetrotter, two 1965 Globetrotters, a 2007 Safari, and a 1987 Excella 1000. (Did I mention I run a shop?) I am planning on doing a few build threads where we go over any unique projects that come our way!


In the meantime, I'll see you out there! Can't wait to see what everyone's working on.

Greetings and welcome from Colorado, formally from Minnesota. I too enjoy the vintage Airstream hobby and enjoy working on them, but not to the extent you do, or Bubba L does. I've renovated four vintage trailers through the years. First a 66 Trade Wind 24', then a 75 Overlander 27', then a 76 Sovereign 31', and just finished a 69 Globe Trotter 21'. Keeps an old geezer busy.

I kept a "project thread" on each of these projects, found in the Knowledgebase, Airstream trailers found at the bottom of the Forums page. I'm sure you are quite familiar to the Forums section I'm talking about.

Greetings Clayton, and welcome!

While I am not from Wisconsin, I spent a number of years teaching school in Grant County Wisconsin near Platteville so I have many fond memories of the state. Wisconsin has an active Unit of the WBCCI/ACI (Wally Byam Caravan Club International/Airstream Club International) and there has been a group of Vintage owners in the Unit as well. I have been a member of the Wisconsin Unit ever since I purchased my 1964 Airstream Overlander Land Yacht International in 1995. You might find that the Unit to be a great one to belong to as I know that I have enjoyed my membership over the years. Membership can be found on the ACI website.

Sounds like you've got it bad also. At least with a shop you can sell them off. They're are always vintage owners who get in over their heads looking for a good shop to help out.
