What is an itemized appraisal?

I insure with Nationwide, ACV. For agreed value they told me I needed an appraisal so when I dropped off my trailer at the dealer for some service, I asked for an appraisal.
I was given a written appraisal and the guy said that was the best he could do. I gave that to my agent and later was told, for the stated value I needed an itemized appraisal. For a slightly lower agreed value, the prepared appraisal would suffice. However, my agent has no idea what constitutes an itemized appraisal or where to get one.
Any ideas?

I had an appraisal done on my vintage AS. It was done by a professional appraiser. It included extensive photographs, reports on all appliances and systems, an overall appraisal of condition and a market survey of similar units for sale. It will probably cost you about $500. In my case later I put in a claim for some cosmetic damage as a result of an accident which basically paid for the whole trailer.

Wow, that is a detailed appraisal, which I might expect if I were buying a trailer. Seems like overkill for insuring a 2012. Thanks

When I was doing marine inspections/appraisals we did general/seaworthiness condition and full itemized appraisals. Full appraisals included a complete inventory, valuation and condition of all utility systems, propulsion and electronics.

Thanks Michael, I am familiar with them in boats as I did some brokerage stuff for a while. I should have drawn the parallel. Still, that seems like a lot for an insurance quote.
