Discontinued Radiator Overflow Tank

I've yet again come across another unavailable part. Anybody have an extra or a suitable replacement? I need GM# 01601022, overflow bottle for my 310. I'd like the original so I don't have to change mounting holes and still use the low coolant sensor.

The broken pieces on ours fell into the tank. Epoxied them back in place, and the tank is back in service. If the pieces had been missing, I woul have looked for something in the kitchen to cut up for a patch. Not pretty, but it works.

Most auto parts have generac tanks. Inexpensive and works great! You can drill holes for the sensors for the low level on the dash. The last GM tank I put in only got me 6 years and you have to drill them to.

Sounds like the route I'm going to take. Did you have to modify the mounting bracket?

Some parts stocking dealers still have those tanks.

I decided to go with the O' Reilly tank. Not as big as I would like, but readily available and $9.

I purchased my replacement from Airstream, Jackson Center several years ago. They may still have some more.

I replaced mine with the O'Reilly generic tank. They have two sizes and I used the larger of the two. I absolutely could not justify the overpriced original tank. I've done a half dozen trips now and the O'Reilly tank works just fine.
