Air suspension reservoir

The reservoir my 1991 350 LE has developed a rust-through pin hole.

Any Classic MH aficionados have a source ?

It has 5 outlets, I may have to replumb to make some other tank work, but I would like to try to located a direct replacement.

It might be easier and less expensive to remove the tank and have it repaired by a competant welder. It can be cleaned and coated inside and out to prevent further problems.

I don't wish to ruffle Johns feathers, but welding an almost 30 year old steel tank that has worn down thin enough in one spot to leak is like sticking your finger in a leaking dam; eventually the metal will fail somewhere else under pressure, even if you recoat the interior. This is just my humble opinion.

Unfortunately you probably won't find a direct replacement that is the exact size, but you may get lucky. Measure the circumference of the tank and then measure the amount of slack the tank straps will give you. This will give you a plus and minus size. IE your tank maybe 14" around, but your straps will allow 15"- 13" of circumference before bottoming out or not be able to do up.

I replaced mine with two five gallon aluminum air tanks. I wanted more air capacity to reduce the amount the compressor cycled; yes the compressor runs for longer I guess (45 seconds or so to refill), but it will only turn on once every hour or so depending on terrain.

I did have to cut off and reattach the tanks hold downs as the drains were in the wrong position but that was all. It also gave me a chance to replace all lines as they were suspect as well.

I would strongly recommend against welding the tank or any other hack
fix-up. This tank holds 100 PSI of air, that is a lot of energy. Your tank
has a rust line along the bottom. That is a weak point that could blow.
The leak that you found is only the first point to break through, there
will be more. An air tank explosion is very dangerous, people get
killed from the concussion.

You should get a new tank. This is stuff that should not be fooled with.

Guys, a certified welder can safely repair the air tank. That's what they do everyday. If you prefer to make a mountain out of a mole Hill, have at it.

Update:

Ebay.

Kids and their jumping cars. All sizes and shapes are there. I found a slightly larger diameter tank that had more than enough ports. Plugged a few ports, extended a couple lines with quality fittings, replaced the clamping bolts with some all-thread and I am back on the road for $150.
