Argosy 20 question

Hi Folks,

I have been looking for a 20 Argosy MH for a while and have been trying to find the original specs with no luck. I have a 20' garage with a high door. Will a 20' Argosy fit in? Door issues aside does anyone have a source for the actual length overall of an argosy 20? Thanks in Advance. John

Here is a link to a thread I started that has the manual for my 1976 Argosy Motorhome. The manual contains all sorts of information about each model they made that year, including the 20. I took some measurements of my 24 a while back when I got it towed and I want to say it is 10-11 feet tall. I will try to take some measurements when I get home and hopefully it will help you. As far as the length goes I can't help you there but there are a few members that will probably see this (Brad) that could help you out.

John,

our 1977 Argosy "20" is, bumper to bumper, 20 feet long.

we estimate the height to the top of the roof AC at more than 10 feet (have not actually measured it.)

best,

Matt,

I'm afraid I won't be much help here. I have the front bumper removed from my Argosy so I can't give an exact measurement front to rear. When I had the Argosy hauled from Arkansas to Kentucky I took great pains to make sure the trailer with Argosy was under 13' 6" load height for the interstate system. I know I was under that by a couple of inches and the trailer deck height was about 38".

I want to say my 20' Argosy was 10'-3-1/2" high to the top of the air conditioner with 16" wheels. The air conditioner was a Coleman Mach 3.

John, I'd say a 20' Argosy is going to be a tight squeeze in a 20' deep garage.

I do know that our 84 310 will fit inside an 11' high garage door opening with 4 to 5 inches to spare.

Brad

best,
My Argosy is 10' 1" to the top of the AC unit (Duo Therm Brisk Air). My rig seems to sit lower than others so add 1-2" to be safe. I have the 16.5" tires.

As for length, I have a spare tire that makes mine and Argosy 20.5!
