Extending Kitchen Counter Space 19' 2007 Bambi SE / Simple Solution
I have been looking for shelving options for my 2007 19' Bambi SE LE and finally found an easy solution to add workable counter space to the woefully inadequate kitchen counter top. This addition didn't require attaching anything unsightly to the aluminum interior skin ( I called AS and they offer no accessory shelving part option). After an extensive internet search, I stumbled across a shelf offered by Camco for $28.00 which I ordered thru Walmart.com with local in store pickup. I installed one shelf as an extension to the kitchen counter. (It is however, necessary to move the dinette cushions out of the way only to raise and lower the extension.) This shelve was the ticket. It is made of solid hardwood with an oak finish that compliments the color of the OE blonde cabinetry in my AS (as an option, it would be possible to cover it with formica to match other counter top colors). I then installed a second shelf onto the wall behind the refrigerator. I use this shelf as a convenient place for my CPAP machine, which uses the nearby 12volt outlet. The shelf is easy to install and sturdy and comes with complete instructions. Installation approximately 30 minutes. Camco also offers a youtube installation video.
