Valve Replacement for 40 lb Horizontal Tanks
Hello Everyone,
I recently tried to get the OPD exempt horizontal 40 lb tanks that came with my Airstream recertified. The last certification was the year they were made, 1991, and they are both leaking from the valve and the tube broke off one. Does anyone know where I can buy these valves or am I doomed to purchase new tanks? The valves say Sherwood 333l. I've checked Vintage Trailer Supply and Airstream Supply.

Try a propane dealer.

Call a propane dealer in a different area (a "big city" will be your best bet)? A valve for a horizontal tank isn't necessarily Airstream specific, and I'm interested to hear what you find, as I've been considering horizontal mount tanks for the next build.

The valves are no longer available. You will have to get new tanks.
The new tanks have brackets that make them larger so you may find that you have to downsize to 30 pound tanks. They are just over $300 a piece at VTS and elsewhere.

If that is the case, I would jump on those valves on eBay plus an extra one ASAP.
