In progress - wbcci simulcast
Hey Kids time to listen up.
The International Board of Trustees seminar will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13. The session usually breaks for lunch from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
The IBT Executive Board will meet on Friday, Jan. 16, at 9 a.m. to be followed immediately by the International Board of Trustees meeting. Again there will be a break for lunch from approximately 12 noon to 1 p.m.
Audio for the meetings will be streamed live. A Windows Streaming Server is being used. Anyone who wants to listen to the meetings must use Windows Media Player and connect to the audio at http://WBCCI.primcast.com/WBCCI.
The feed will begin approximately 10 minutes before the meeting begins. The microphone will be closed during recess and music will be played during that period.
An archive of each of the meetings will be made and posted on the WBCCI Web site as soon as possible after each of the meetings.

Motion has been moved forward to make all partipants on wbcci.org re-register with real name and number! Plus moderation is being set-up.
I've really been on the fence about joining, but I think I'm having more fun just observing

So, have they mentioned what is going to be this year's controversy? Or are they holding that 'till Friday?

Is that like the signed union ballots the Dem's want to get pushed through?
Moderation is probably a good thing, though. At least I can't imagine the impassioned members of the WBCCI left unmonitored to have at each other for days on end on an anonymous forum.

I am sooo not putting my full name on the web. It's the flippin' internet not a living room. As far as moderation - well I have to say I think some thoughtful moderation is a good thing Deleting all dissension is not.

Sounds to me like a bit of paranoia on both sides of this one. Why should one have to use one's real name? And why is using one's real name such a threat to one's security (since it's listed in every imaginable online and paper phonebook, too)?

Lynn,
I don't know the answer to your question, since I put my name on all posts. Perhaps, posters are concerned that what they post can come back to haunt themselves and the owners of the forum want to know who to go after.

Yes, I put my name on everything, too.
But the intent of my post was to point out that both sides of this one are acting in a somewhat paranoid way. There's no escaping the condition.

Lynn,
But, as Henry Kissinger is quoted, even paranoids have enemies.

haunted? or hunted? Oh well some of us may be dead men walking. Talk of "bad guys" and "juicy stuff" forums, very intriguing ...

People with kids living at home owe their children due diligence. There are predators who trawl sites looking for information about kids & where they live. I once worked with a guy who's since spent two years in the slammer for that sort of thing. So yeah, maybe I am a little paranoid.
As far as the "coming back to haunt..." I post under the assumption that my kids will one day look up what I say, so it isn't an issue.

I agree with RedSHED. There are too many sick people in the world today. I don't mind letting people know who I am or introducing myself at rallies where it is face-to-face, but when you can't see who's on the other side of the cyber fence, I am inclined to maintain anonymity, or at least partial anonymity. My wife is a teacher and has a web site for her class room, and she researched web hosting services to find one that doesn't list our home address so weirdos can't stalk her...strange things have happened in the world of education.
