I found a local Hensley Arrow WD hitch, basically brand new for $900. Do I HAVE to reinforce my hitch before using this set-up? See OP for stats on my set-up.
I am also considering the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller for ease of installation and I dont want anything physically installed in the vehicle cabin, and this set-up is perfect for that. Any horror stories about this thing?
Any thoughts, opinions, and experiences would be greatly appreciated!!!!
I am already impressed with the helpfulness of the Airstream community
Thanks,
Dean
What has worked well for us is to mount the controller with the heavy duty velcro ... nothing permanently attached that way. Just make sure that you can have easy physical access to the manual controller function for emergency braking and set up.

Hard mount it - did so on both Pepper & T-Rex (check pics in both my install instructions). If you sell the vehicle, the two small screw holes almost close themselves, no sticky residue, you can not even see the holes, and no fear of if in case of emergency, the device pulling away from velcro or sticky adhesive.

just drove 15hours last night from San Fransico to SLC
Heavy winds whole way equalizer 600 bars did there job very well, in fact I was moving big rigs. Might be cheaper way to go for Porsche. Still need to tinker with my setup drop height inch or 2 add more weight on front trailer. Towing without bars would have been nerve racking. Top speed around 75

The HD variety (you will need to go to a specialty shop) of velcro keeps even radar units and video camera "snug" on the dash of patrol vehicles. If you are the typical Porsche owner, just leave the hook velcro in place on the panel or dash mount if you trade vehicles; no holes and no goo. See my avatar.
