It had this paint job when we bought it. The PO was using it as a "hospitality suite" on his horse ranch. One of his customers / clients painting the mural. They painted the trailer white with exterior latex house paint, using a roller. The white paint has held up very well. You probably can't make out the door. It says hula hut. My wife likes it and we are looking to find someone to tuch it up. Hoping to find an art student at the local college student that wants to make a couple of hundred dollars.
BTW. My wife made flamingo material curtains and incorporated remnants if that material in redoing the upolstry.

If you are talking about mine. I was going to polish the aluminum but the corners were dented. I took the interior apart and tried to roll the aluminum back to original and failed.

Body filler where needed, removed paint at trim and window frames, sanded/scotch pad entire Argosy, painted with Harbor Freight air gun. Paint is from TCP Global.

There is a post where a recent paint job was $6,000. Body work and the removal of trim was included. Probably by far a superior paint job.

I still need to color sand and buff but people come up to me and ask where I got it painted so I'm putting the buffing off.

Thanks 909kenu. I have seen articles where people have used rattle can paint and also one on eBay that was rolled on. Just haven't found info on a total DIY job . My paint on my 1976 is in pretty good shape but I long for a two tone paint. Dreamsicle orange!

Just got mine back

I just got my '73 back from being painted. It's an original Arogsy color on the top and GM Olive Metallic color on the bottom.

Agreed! I really love how the Argosy can carry the classic shape with such unique and funky designs. These paint jobs are really beautiful. I love the aluminum for what it is and I love these beautiful Argosy trailers for their unique beauty too. Great job!!

Is it weird that, after spending all of my free time for the last week polishing, I am here looking at painted Argosys?

No, because you probably don't ever want to polish another trailer again

Painting Trailer

The people who did the work, paint trucks and had large inside bays to do the painting and prep work.

Hi there I saw your post and I'm interested in the place that painted your trailer. We just bought the same trailer and the clear coat on top has peeled and some paint damage now on top. It has been paint once back in 2008 from Beige to Airsteam silver

Sorry that I missed your post. We live near London and got ours painted at Wiltsie Truck Bodies in Aylmer. Smokeless Joe got his painted there too. See post #3. He also had a long Thread dedicated to his restoration which is worth a read. Too bad he sold his Argosy a couple of years ago. BTW, I like the silver paint job.

Paint job

Hi! I like your paint job too. Answering your question about who painted ours. We painted It here at home on a warm windless day. It’s a urethane paint that does not require clear coat. Yes there was a little trash but not enough that can’t be buffed out. As far as your clear coat problem it might not be as big of repair as you think. I’d talk with a auto painter and get his thoughts.

Wow! Cliffhanger4, that trailer is beautiful!
I know it's blasphemy here, but to my eye, the Argosy has better lines than the Airstream!
