1988 Argosy 32' compared to others

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. I've recently decided to rent out my 1300 sq ft house and purchase an airstream for full time living for myself & 7 year old son. I have been doing some research on which would be better for us. I'm limited on what I can spend (because I decided to rent my house instead of sell or refinance). Important aspects are size and move in ready (everything in working condition with little or minor upgrades or repairs). I came across an 1988 Argosy 32' for 5k. And it seems to be perfect for us! I was wondering what is the difference between this model compared to let's say an Excella of the same year and size. It also seems that the value of the Excella in the same condition are higher. Any info would be helpful! Thank you!!!

There's a very good thread on this subject. I'd bring a pick and look very closely at the edges for soft floor/wood.

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f419...osy-39602.html.

I'm not sure the floor is plywood, I suspect OSB. Tires on that thing should be less than 5 years old, spendy to replace. Appliances all in working order. Is the body straight and without any major dents. The parts could be very expensive to replace because this was a very limited run of style.

I have been listening to the VAP episodes thevap.com, which have helped me a great deal. I am not certain, but I don't know if your Squarstream has a front hold down plate, I'd check for that as well since this is a longer Airstream. Colin Hyde is the specialist on the VAP and is a very good resource and could possibly have something in NY for you.

5K isn't much money for a ready to go Airstream in my humble opinion., but I'm not up on 80's and newer prices. My preference is 50-60s

I very much appreciate your response KrisE MN! I've attached pictures. I haven't been able to go see it for it is in TX and I am in Louisiana and Hurricane Harvey is in my way of normal travel.
