We hadn't thought about it but we took our first trip on our new axles and when we arrived we saw our new axles had gain us about 3 or so inches which apparently was because we loosened them up from the drive, duh. We can almost see over the top of the tire now! Never having towed anything before I expected the driver to be able to feel the difference with the new axles but I didn't realize the passenger would be able to also, the truck felt like a much softer ride than when we'd previously towed, awesome! It's also a great feeling to know we're protecting our Airstream and rivets.
We're both happy and sad to say that we've sold our trailer. Due to our recent move & now commute we simply haven't had time to camp and we really didn't like the idea of this beautiful trailer wasting away. Her new owners picked her up yesterday.
Our plans definitely include another Airstream in the future, well, unless fate puts the right trailer in our path sooner rather than later.
