AC for a 1968 globetrotter

As a new trailer owner I am about to purchase an A/C unit for my 1968 Globetrotter. It never had one. Wanted to get your advice on the best brand. I am looking at the Carrier 15000 BTU low profile. Live in CA and summers sizzle. Any thoughts would be appreciated-Thank you.

Carrier is no longer making RV air conditioners, so you may find it difficult to get one, especially the longer you wait. The other "good" option is a Duo-Therm (Dometic) Penguin in 15,000 btu size. They require a drain pan, but every one I've gotten has it in the box.

I have found that the 15000 is best...in all three of mine. I had a 13000 in the Caravel and it really worked to stay ahead of the West Texas heat. I use the 15000 Carrier now in Way South Texas and its great. So far, around here and even on Ebay, I find Carriers easily.......eventhough they quit making them .
