Siskel and Ebert's "At the Movies" - Good Memories

In memory of Roger Ebert....
Roger Ebert's Final Top 10 Films of All Time - DNAinfo.com Chicago

Ebert was a huge fan of documentarian Werner Herzog, as I am.

Favorite Movie

We camp a great deal near Dupont State Forest, Brevard, North Carolina. Several scenes from "Last of the Mohicans" with Daniel Day Lewis were filmed at the numerous water falls in the area ( Hooker Falls, Triple Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and High Falls). The last time we were there we actually saw two kayakers go over Hooker Falls, just like the canoe in the movie.

We enjoy hiking in this area, viewing the falls and then watching this movie again. Roger Ebert liked this movie and gave it a thumbs up.

Seconded! Anything with a male chauvinist hero, car chases, guns, and girls wearing too little for no good reason. 007 fits that to a T!

Fandango, with Kevin Costner and Judd Nelson. Best road trip movie ever! The Airstream connection: has some great music by Pat Metheny, who also did an album entitled American Garage with vintage Airstreams on the cover, containing a song called Airstream.

Oh, and as I spent 12 years on Wall Street, I enjoy these:

Wall Street
Margin Call

But I will never watch "The Wolf of Wall Street". The seamy side of Wall Street is all about high level intelligent conning and not getting caught (i.e. Goldman Sachs). That guy is a common crook acting stupid.

Birdmaestro, I just saw "The Wolf of Wall Street" because my friend said she heard it was good. It was the most pornographic, sick movie I have ever seen and I told my friend - you shouldn't listen to who ever told you it was a good movie - totally discussing. Now that said, please don't laugh, but my favorite movie is "Mary Poppins" or "Sound of Music" - I know sappy, but good!

The BBC Series Sherlock is an excellent modern take on Sherlock Holmes.

True Grant. I'm watching the Sugar Bowl right now, but the latest Sherlock comes on here in an hour, and I'll be changing channels to that soon.
