Neat. There are a couple of threads here on the MQF and where they all are now. Some of them had rather interesting afterlives before being found and saved. My favorite is the story of MQF002, the one for Apollo 12.

BTW, MQF003, the one for Apollo 13 was never used and its whereabouts are unknown.

What a find that will be, a space-age holy grail - hopefully it is still around somewhere, and not, perhaps, destroyed in a Georgia forest fire, as what was thought to have happened to MQF002.

How many of the Apollo mession crews did have to go into quarantien. Not sure when they stopped doing it?

I do remember Apollo/Soyuz being the last of the Apollo missions. They were in quarantine for a couple of weeks before the mission at JSC and at a medical facilities in Hawaii for a couple of weeks after splashdown.

So we were more concerned about the dirty Russians than Moon dust?
