454 LY Alternator & Isolator upgrade??
I stopped by 4alterstart in Dallas TX earlier this month and let them look at my 92' 36" TAG LY with Chev TBI 454. They said the alternator was most likely 105amp, which to me seems too small by todays standards (I thought it was 125 0r 130amp). They recommended that I remove it, send it to them for a rebuild to at least 180amps, which would also mean a new 180amp isolator and new 4ga ground wire as well. Has anyone done this kind of upgrade, and what is your experience with it? I was very impressed, btw, with the 4alterstart people and products. Thanks, D&D
