Panamerica what size light plant will run it
I just bought a Panamerica which I believe has larger 15000 air conditioner and wonder if my Yamaha ef2400si inverter will run it. It has run a 13500 air conditioner on old trailer no problem before. Thanks for any help and comments on this trailer since I am a new to airstream and not sure how it will compare to my 2006 okanagon 28 foot double slide trailer which was a very good trailer and well built. I needed a toyhauler and wanted one that will last and not hard to pull so that is why I went with Panamerica

[It does not need to be Panamerica trailer just a bigger 15000 ac unit, what it takes for generator size to run it. [/I]

We have the 15,000 AC upgrade on our 2009 27'FB. We have a Handi 3000i and it runs our AC without any problem. Sorry, but i don't know about the Yamaha 2,400 si.

Your going to need a bigger generator its max is 13500 BTU and I wouldn't try it on a 15,000 BTU. We have the Yamaha 2400 and love it but our AC is 11,000 BTU. Congrats on the Pan America!

I was afraid it might not work with bigger air conditioner. I will probably try it and worse case it would just kick out which it probably will do. It is to bad since this is a nice generator.

You should be okay with 2 Honda 2000i gennies linked together. I heard this combo works well, don't know if the Yamaha generators can be linked together like the Honda's. But, if they can that may be your best solution.

Worse case, unfortunately, is it won't kick out but continue to run at low voltage and damage your air conditioner.

You would think a Yamaha with inverter would have good quality electronics and kick when it should which I have seen it do. The cheap china build generators I would be afraid of doing that.

Got chance to try my Yamaha 2400 lightplant on Airstream with 15000btu ac in my heated shop for 1/2 hour with a/c on high all lights on and inverter on with tv on. That is really impressive for it size. It was working but not to bad.
