I was driving down the road and spotted an Airstream tucked in behind a tree with a 4-sale sign on it. I pulled in and checked it out. It is a 73 Tradewind, in not too bad a shape on initial inspection. The guy is asking $3000 for it. I didn't do a thorough checking of the unit, since I was just stopping out of curiousity. The hot water heater looked to be in good condition. The interior needed some cleaning, but was not too bad. Tires were useable for short distances. It had an awning. The skin was really nice except for a small dent in the front above the window, and it looked as though it had brushed against something causing a small dent on the street side, right under the living room windows. The guy said everything worked... but we have all heard that before. Anyway, I told the guy I would let you all know, and if anyone was interested, I would supply his phone number. He hasn't advertised it here locally yet. I'm sure he could be talked down. If I had room to store it, I would snag it, but I already have my hands full redoing my 72 Overlander. Just what I need is another project I don't have time to finish! Oh, he bought a 31 footer to live in. Airstreams don't last long here in Tampa.
